Rappers Ludacris and Young Jeezy Use Celebrity Status to Help Communities

Friday, December 01, 2006

Today, December 1st, is World AIDS day.

Atlanta rapper Ludacris (YouthAIDS ambassador) just completed a nationwide tour of colleges, universities, and retail stores to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS among our youth.

Young Jeezy is sponsoring an essay contest for local high school seniors. The theme of the essay is "What Inspires You?" Prizes include a $1,000 college scholarship, an autographed CD and poster, and a pizza party for the winner's entire class. For more information, you can visit: www.theinspirationessaycontest.com

Doing good deeds is not unusual for these famous rappers. These guys quietly and continuously work hard for their communities, but you will never see it on TV. They aren't helping out just as a publicity stunt. Ludacris and Young Jeezy contribute because they truly care about people and really want to help them.

Some artists get rich, and forget about where they came from. Ludacris and Young Jeezy know how to use their celebrity status to do good things for the community.

There are a lot of other celebrities that could learn a lot from these two young guys!
