How much is integrity worth? For Yale, it is only $350 million!

Since the US military discriminated against some of the students they recruit, (through the failed military policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" that Don't Work), Yale law school kicked the military recruiters off campus. For the past five years, I have really admired Yale for doing the right thing.

I was shocked to hear that at this years job fair, the military recruiters are now back on campus. Why did they finally cave in? The "Solomon Amendment" gives the government the right to withhold federal grants and other funding if they are not given "equal access" to the campus.

It amazed me that they have the audacity to talk about "equal access to the campus" while they refuse to give students "equal access" to the military. If Yale continued to ban the recruiters, they would lose $350 million in funding. For an Ivy League school, $350,000,000 is not a lot of money.

I have always been disappointed by the government's actions, but now I am really disappointed that the integrity of Yale was sold for only $350 million. The "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is wrong, and the "Solomon Amendment" is wrong. If I could raise the money, I wonder how much it would cost to kick the recruiters off campus again. It is disgusting to me that they actually put a price on their integrity.
