Cemetery Preservation for Veterans

Friday, May 17th, 2012

Flag of the United States of America

Did you know most veterans qualify for a free headstone or grave marker?

You also can get a special "medallion" that goes on the graves that don't use the standard government-provided markers.

For example, if your veteran has a privately-made family tombstone, you can use the medallion to signify their veteran status.

To order a grave medallion for a veteran, use VA Form 40-1330M. The order form is quick and easy, just go to va.gov and click burial benefits for details:
www.cem.va.gov

When planning the funeral of a veteran, ask your funeral director about the burial benefits for veterans.

Best regards,
