Best wishes for 2011 and a look back at 2010

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

Another year has passed as we welcome the new year of 2011. For most families, 2010 was, at best, a very difficult year. The employment outlook and the housing market are clear signals of a tough time still ahead of us. Despite the setbacks experienced by many, there were a lot of accomplishments of 2010.

In 2010:

  • Repeal of military Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy
  • Health Care for millions (but an area that still needs improvements)
  • Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
  • START - Nuclear Weapons Treaty
  • Unemployment Benefits Extended
  • Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act
  • Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act
  • California Proposition 8 Marriage Amendment case heard by Federal Appeals Court
  • WikiLeaks.org publishes secret US documents about Iraq and Afghanistan
  • BP Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico
  • Miners in Chile Rescued
  • Millions involved in Politics during elections
  • Haiti Earthquake Relief and Cholera Epidemic

2010 Celebrity Deaths

  • Barbara Billingsley
  • Tom Bosley
  • Dixie Carter
  • Gary Coleman
  • Robert Culp
  • Tony Curtis
  • Jimmy Dean
  • Ronnie James Dio
  • John Forsythe

  • Dennis Hopper
  • Lena Horne
  • Andrew Koenig
  • Art Linkletter
  • Teena Marie
  • Rue McClanahan

So, what person / event touched your life the most in 2010? What do you have planned for 2011?

I hope that 2011 will be a year filled with love and prosperity for all of us!

Best regards,
