What's wrong with Gary?

Monday, December 26th, 2011

I didn't mean to stir up drama. I asked if there were any state tribal assets at risk. When someone said Huh? I tried to explain. I am not running for any public office (too honest) and I am not interested in taking over a tribe or serving on any tribal council. I have no children, so the future of the tribes does not affect me. I am only involved because my heart tells me it is the right thing to do.

Why am I so pushy about it? I've reached the end of my "usefulness." I am battling a muscular disease with no treatment or cure (yep, I'm a Jerry's kid). At this point, I am permanently disabled in three out of four limbs. My "good" arm shakes so much it that it can be hard to use. Now my breathing and swallowing are also being affected. I've lived an incredible life and I'm not seeking any pity. My condition is not an excuse for bad behaviour, but hopefully it is a partial explanation. I just wanted you to know I am not a mean person. If I don't click LIKE, if I'm short with you, or turn down all of your invitations - please don't take it personally. I have full-time staff to help me, but I'm running out of time. I really want to see the Cherokee united again, but that may be an unrealistic goal. I will never give up, but there is a point where you've done all that you can do, and I'm about to reach that point. That is why I am so desperate to see this through.... ?

Best regards,
